Established
in 1952, Hangzhou Landscape Designing Institute was approved to be
one of seven national grade-A landscape-designing firms by the State
Planning Committee and the Ministry of Construction.
For the past nearly 50 years, the Institute has become one of the
first class designing firms nationwide. With solid technical force
and strong designing capability, the institute has designed projects
that have turned out high
social,
environment and economic benefits.
The institute has won the national Silver Medal, the Ministry's Grade
I Medal and provincial Special Grade Medal for the Guo Manor by the
West Lake; national Bronze Medal and the Ministry's Grade I Medal
for the Crown Prince Bay Park; and the Ministry's awards for
Ruan
Gong Isle, Hall Mirroring the Lake, Enjoying Wintersweet at the Ling
Peak, the garden in the Gui Shan Hotel in Guilin City, Yao Brook scenic
spot, Yun Song Book House in Hangzhou City, and etc.
In addition, the institute has finished the design of "Chinese Garden"
for the Queen Botanical Garden in New York; others under way include
the renovation of the ancient building Tong Ji Courtyard in Singapore,
Hangzhou Gate and Chinese Plum Trees Garden in Japan. Hangzhou Garden
Designing Institute undertakes projects including planning of parks,
scenic spots and vacation villages; designing of gardens and buildings;
designing of imitations of ancient buildings, temples and imitations
of ancient construction of cultural relic protection firms; designing
of civilian and public buildings; designing of urban squares, urban
greening and voice-controlled fountains; general contracting of gardening
and construction projects; and related consultation and construction
supervision.
