Crown Prince Bay (Taiziwan)
Park adjoins the south part of the West Lake and north parts of Jiuyao
Hill and Nanping Hill, occupying an area of 80 hectares. With green
hills and glassy water, the park is awarded the Best Designing Park
by the Ministry of Construction in 1995.
Taking
good advantage of geographical features, the park boasts of unique
beauty. An artificial canal dug to channel water from Qiantang River
and the West Lake traverses through the park. The park is crisscrossed
by various ponds, rivers, and a huge waterfall is a great attraction.
The waterfall splashes down from the
Jiuyao Hill, giving out its loud roar. Creeks
are artificially wound around the park across lawn and gullies.
In the eastern part of the park, open lawns slope up and merge with
towering wood. In the middle of the park are low mounts separated
by creeks and pounds and connected by tiny bridges. Flowers and lawns
are exquisite here. In the west, some small log cabins are scattered
in the ravishing wood and lawns.
Though designed and built with the greatest efforts and cares so as
to make the park in a combination of European and Chinese styles,
the Crown Prince Bay park is also meant to maintain all its idyllic
wonders and beauties. In spring, tulips blossom into a furious sea
of colors and grace and the park is more than wonderful and romantic.
